What I Bring to Each Session
I strive to build an environment that is welcoming, collaborative, and respectful for each patient that I see. I know that neuropsychological assessment and therapy are a vulnerable process, and I view it as an important responsibility to help my patients feel comfortable to set the foundation for better understanding of themselves. I recognize that medical appointments can sometimes feel rushed or impersonal, and I strive to create an experience where individuals feel genuinely heard, understood, and treated as people rather than simply a set of symptoms or test results.
I also bring a passion for the field and a variety of training experiences which have allowed me to stay on top of current evidence-based practices and able to utilize a contemporary approach to neuropsychological care. My therapeutic approach draws on principles from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I believe that each individual I see is unique and seek to help them discover tools and perspectives to unlock the inner strength and adaptability that they have.
How I Stay Centered
Outside the clinic, you may find me running on one of the Pacific Northwest's many beautiful trails or enjoying the numerous local sporting events. I also enjoy cooking, spending time with my family, and writing and reading poetry. I find that nature and quality time with people I love are the best ways to take care of myself when I need to recharge.
